چکیده

Objectives:1-To determine the Positive Predictive Value(PPV) of ?glandularNeoplasia and borderline nuclear changes in glandularcells by comparing and correlating the cytology andhistological reports. 2Compare the Positive Predictive Value(PPV) to other recent studies inLiterature. Design: Retrospective review Method: Review of the cytology and histology reports via electronic pathology recordsystem of patients reported as glandular and borderline nuclear changes in glandularcells and their subsequent histology if available over a 3 year period (2011 – 2013) inWest Kent pathology Network. Results: Group 1 ?glandular neoplasiaGroup 2 Borderline nuclear changes in glandular cellsThe PPV of group 1 was 73% compared for 75.4%,66.3%,52%.However the PPV ofclinically significant lesion was 89% compared for 80% and 81%.The PPV of group 2was 11% as compared to 24.1% and 17% and PPV of clinically significant lesion ingroup 2 is 23% as compared to 56%. Conclusion: Women with ?glandular neoplasia on cytology have a high probabilityof a glandular lesion and even higher probability of clinically significant lesion andshould be referred for colposcopy. Borderline nuclear changes in glandular cellsmight require further evaluation before referral for colposcopy.

It clearly has a role in the diagnosis of neoplastic disease but its role in establishing non-neoplastic diagnoses should also be recognised. Ancillary tests may be required to establish a definitive diagnosis. Clinical and scientific teamwor...

Comparision of the Diagnostic values of Doppler Sonography with Fine Needle Aspiration in Thyroid Nodules

Valuable diagnostic methods in this field are sonography and fine needle aspiration. In this study while investigating these two methods, we compared them with postsurgical pathologic findings. Materials and methods: This is a cross sectional, descriptive-analytical study. ...
